The Love Ministry (Kærlighedsministeriet)

In the near future a man and a woman are called in for an interview at the local government branch of “The Love Ministry”.
They want to be a couple and have to make a contract on their relationship aided by an attorney.
The government has passed a new reform that is meant to effectuate love. It will minimize lost work hours wasted on human errors such as heartache over lost love and miserable crushes.
We get more growth in our society, if love is systematized like all other aspects in human life.
It’s a lot easier that way, right?

Superwoman 1 Superwoman

With less than 48 hours before show number 16 of 18 was to perform in front of a paying audience I was contacted by the Theatre Play with regards to taking over the part of an actor who had sustained an injury.

After having changed shifts at my “bread and butter” job I showed up at the theatre and rehearsed for a solid 8 hours, where I’d done all I could to memorize the lines beforehand and then played in the performance, so it didn’t have to be cancelled for its last three sold out shows.

A tough assignment, but very satisfying to complete!

The Paprika Steen Predicament (PaprikaSteenProblematikken)

A performance about how it is and how it feels to go the state theatre school auditions, where we mashed up our texts, songs and poems for the tests.

I urged the group to address the issue I like to call “The Paprika Steen Predicament”, where you as an applicant to the schools have to endure that your trials and tribulations are put down by comforting friends with the notion that one of our most famous actresses applied a million times before being accepted…

We had 24 hours to prepare the performance, which was based on improvisational work on our texts.

My Time (Min Tid)

bus performance

I played the part of “Shahbaz” in a performance lecture that was a bachelor assignment for a Performance Design group from Roskilde University College.

My co-player and I played two lecturers of the Romantic Era, which incorporated song, dance and lots and lots of dry material presented in a super sexy manner by the macho, yet surprisingly homo erotic duo that summon two divas to aid in the lecture.

One of the funniest performances I’ve ever been a part of that was particularly difficult to perform in, since I was terribly stricken by the flu.

I played the part of Ebbe in the collage performance that melded texts from film and theater and made a separate performance from them.

The revenue went to a charity organization called “Projekt Udenfor/Project Outside”, whose main task is to aid homeless people during the cold months of winter.

I participated in the dance performance in the acclaimed Dansehallerne/The Dance Halls connected to the Carlsberg Brewery.

The performance consisted of 13 professional dancers and 40 extras, where I was in the extras group.

This was the first time that I performed in the nude in front of an audience in an effort to heighten confidence and further my development as an actor.

The performance sought to present man as a flock animal and not as the zeitgeist would have it, namely as an individual.

One Thousand and One Nights

The Nørrebro Festival had taken on the mammoth task of reading the entire Danish translation of the world-renowned adventure. I was one of the readers who partook in the readings.

Dramatics Lab Quonga Festival 2013 (Dramatiker Lab Quonga Festival 2013)

I performed in two performances specifically written for this festival each lasting ten minutes.

The performance “Mælk Uden Mening/Milk Without Meaning”, which was one of the two performances wound up getting a publishing release.

I travelled from Copenhagen to Aarhus to rehearse with the group, which consisted of the director, me and another actor.

The Cold Table (Det Kolde Bord)

Det Kolde Bord

The concept of a performance being written in 24 hours by a single writer and then rehearsed by four actors under the guidance of a single director is still a popular event in the Copenhagen theater scene.

I had the honor of joining the event when the Nørrebro based “Teater Grob” invited us in. It was a wildly inspiring experience.

Character names aren’t written, since I never got the script digitally.
